Today is a proper physical stretch. We are looking at stretching our hamstrings while simultaneously articulating the spine. (Ooh, big words today!)

Basically, in spite of the big words, we are doing a spine roll down from standing. This is used in both Pilates, as a warm up, and Yoga as a ‘gravity pose’ where we allow the spine to decompress as it hangs in the opposite direction from its normal standing position. It also has the ability to gently stretch out the hamstrings which is done by bending and straightening the legs, one at a time and then both together to stretch those long muscles in the thighs.
