The StretchBodyMind Pilates Instructor Training has been designed with you in mind. It combines Industry accredited training with comprehensive mentoring support and offers you the opportunity to start a new career sharing the work of Joseph Pilates without having to leave your current job to do so.
This course, which will take place at The Kali Collective, Glasgow for the second year running, consists of three weekend intensives a month apart followed by an assessment day 8 weeks later.

During the course you will learn the principles of Pilates Matwork as well as how to programme and instruct a series of Pilates Matwork sessions in a one-to-one or group setting.
Principles: Principles of exercise, fitness and health; Anatomy & Physiology for exercise and health; History and Principles of Pilates
Programming: Health & Safety in a fitness environment; Teaching Special Populations; Creating a series of Pilates Matwork classes
Instructing: Client interviews including postural assessment; Teaching, adapting and progressing Pilates Matwork exercises; Business skills
This Level 3 diploma is certified by Active IQ and is worth 20 CPD points with REPS (the Register of Exercise Professionals). This gives the highest nationally recognised qualification for Pilates. You will also receive:
- training by an experienced Pilates practitioner
- training in a Glasgow city centre location
- the opportunity to network with fellow Pilates enthusiasts

- Before the practical training weekends you will be registered for online training in the Principles of Exercise & Fitness, Customer Service Skills and Anatomy & Physiology.
- During the course you will complete a Learner Achievement Portfolio and sit a multiple choice Anatomy & Physiology exam.
- You will attend a one-day practical assessment approximately 6 – 8 weeks after the course.
- You will also be expected to submit evidence of personal mat sessions, observation hours and student teaching hours undertaken during the course which will complete your Learner Achievement Portfolio and will be submitted during your final assessment day.

Q. Is this course suitable for me?
A. This course is suitable for people who have a good knowledge of anatomy and physiology (ideally above GCSE level) and who have been attending Pilates mat classes for approximately 6 months or those healthcare/fitness professionals who wish to expand their teaching portfolio and enhance their earning potential. The nature of the course means that this is particularly suitable for career-changers who want to be fully-trained Pilates Instructors by the Autumn!
Q. I already hold a Level 2 Pilates qualification. Will I have to attend and pay for the whole course if I want to become a level 3 Pilates instructor?
A. Yes you will still need to attend and complete the practical training and 1-day assessment as well as the required online training.
Q. If I have limited Pilates experience but am qualified as a Level 2 ETM/ Gym instructor/ Physiotherapist, can I attend this course?
A. Yes, however you would be expected to attend at least 2 or 3 Pilates classes to gain experience before you attend this practical course.
Q. If I do not hold any recognised teaching qualification, can I attend this course?
A.Yes, as the course has been designed to help people improve their teaching ability and prepare for a career as a Pilates Instructor.
Q. I already hold a level 3 A & P qualification. Will I have to take it again and will the course be discounted?
A. You will need to retake the paper again if your qualification is more than 2 years old. You will not need to take it again if this qualification is less than 2 years old (evidence must be supplied). The course will be then discounted by £50.00. (Terms & Conditions apply).
Q. Is the course you offer an official Pilates course?
A. Yes, the course is validated by the awarding body Active IQ as a Level 3 Pilates Diploma course. You will gain entry on the REPs register at Level 3 and gain 20 CPD points.
Q. Will I be able to call my class ‘Pilates’?
A. Yes you will, as you will be a fully qualified Pilates Matwork Instructor.
