My 2014 started off well.

As I’ve done for the last 3 years, I spent some quiet time last week on my 2014 Create Your Amazing Year Planner and trying to get some structure to my business and life.

And then, on Monday, it was as if my world exploded!

You see, I had all these great ideas about doing a detox, or a juice diet, or something restricting my calories. I also had these great ideas about doing a 30-day Plank Challenge, a 30-day yoga challenge, a 10-day meditation and a 10 day yoga for abs challenge. And then, to add insult to injury, I thought it would be a great idea to sign up to lots of “new year, new you” business planning sessions.

I signed up for all these free online courses, teleseminars and Facebook groups. Unfortunately EVERYTHING seemed to start all at once! (And that includes going back to college for my Complementary Therapies course).

All week I have arrived home from college to approximately 50 new emails and 100+ (!!) Facebook notifications each day and, as you imagine, it has been incredibly overwhelming. All this planning has totally killed my New Year’s buzz.

I am now going to spend the weekend unsubscribing from all these new emails and unfriending all these new Facebook contacts because, believe it or not, my word for 2014 is


So, instead of this chaos, I’m starting 2014 concentrating on the  first ever (and coolest ever!) StretchBodyMind Yoga Teacher Training. Enrollment for the course finishes NEXT Friday and I’d love you to join us in beautiful An Creagan to learn ancient hatha yoga techniques combined with the latest in positive psychology and mindfulness meditation techniques.

If you don’t have time to join us this time I might sneak out the odd bit of information throughout the 6 month course so keep your eyes peeled! And, in the meantime, if you wish to begin 2014 with focus

here’s what I suggest:

1. Choose ONE thing to work on, dream about, create, improve, refine, develop. Just ONE thing.

2. Work on that thing. Dream about it, create it, improve it, refine it, develop it.

3. That’s it! Seriously! Just ONE thing. It doesn’t have to be for all year but it is important for right now.

Want an example? Well, you could choose your health. And, unlike me with all my different diets, detoxes and exercise challenges, choose ONE thing about your health to work on. Perhaps 2014 is the year you become a vegetarian? Or attempt to hold Plank pose for a minute? Or quit smoking? It doesn’t have to be all three. In fact, I recommend that you start with just ONE thing. You never know where it might lead…
