Today is the first of the month and the start of the week and it seems the weather has finally changed from Winter to Spring so it seems like everything is pushing me towards starting again on this journey of self-employment and self-empowerment.

I read this poem today at the start of my journey. Today is the first day of April and the start of my Ultimate Blog Challenge where I intend to blog every day and, by doing so, tell you a little bit more about my life and about Stretch Body Mind – my business and my take on how life stretches you!

The Journey

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,

though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice —

though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.

“Mend my life!”
each voice cried.

But you didn’t stop.
You knew what you had to do,

though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,

though their melancholy
was terrible.

It was already late
enough, and a wild night,

and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.

But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,

the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,

and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,

that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,

determined to do
the only thing you could do —

determined to save
the only life you could save.

Wow! I have this optimism about my life and work. I can’t wait to tell you more about it as the days, and this blog, unfold. In the meantime, have a look around the site and read some of the blog posts I put up in February. I am very proud of this website as it has been 3 months in the making, not to mention a whole lifetime in my head!
